The notch shows aged patina on the cut surfaces consistent with the rest of the bamboo. May have originally had translucent inserts behind the cut-out features, which are missing.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe lantern retains its original orange painted surface with significant paint loss throughout, exposing dark oxidation and bare metal beneath. Surface rust is present across both halves.
