Antique 1/6th plate daguerreotype photograph of a young woman seated at a draped table. She wears a checked dress with a dark ruffled collar and a lace head covering over dark hair, with drop earrings visible. Her hands rest on the table surface. The image is housed behind an oval brass mat with a decorative scrollwork preserver, in the image half of a leatherette union case lined with pink velvet. The cover half is not present.
The plate shows scattered speckling and light haze across the surface. The brass mat and preserver are intact. The remaining case half shows wear to the leatherette covering. Display stand shown in photograph is not included.
