Antique 1/6th plate daguerreotype photograph of a child in a dark buttoned garment with a white collar, standing beside a small table draped with a patterned cloth. A cap, consistent with a railroad or similar occupational style, rests on the table beside the child. The image is housed in a brass mat within a full intact leatherette union case with a red fabric pillow on the interior left side. The exterior of the case features an embossed floral bouquet and scroll design.

The daguerreotype plate shows some tarnish and a small area of lifting at the upper right corner. The case exhibits edge and corner wear with some loss to the leatherette covering.
