An antique 1/9th plate uncased ambrotype photograph depicting a young woman with center-parted dark hair and visible freckles, wearing a plaid dress with a white collar and buttons down the front, her hands folded at the waist. The image is framed in an oval brass mat with a floral corner and scrollwork embossed border, retained within a gilt preserver. The reverse bears an orange printed photographer's label reading "From Geo. L. Brakenridge's Ambrotype & Photograph Saloon, No. 2 Demond's Block, Main St., Ware, Mass." The preserver is held with a wire clip.

Condition includes multiple cracks to across the image plate, surface scratches and abrasion to the ambrotype, and wear and tarnishing to the brass mat and preserver.
