Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Antique autograph album belonging to Mrs. Lucinda L. Berry of Somerville, Massachusetts. The album is "The Aldine Autograph Album with Decorated Spaces and Lines for Sentiment and Name," copyrighted 1878 by L.A. Lipman, Washington, D.C. The blue cloth-covered boards are stamped in gilt and black with "Autographs" on the front cover. Interior pages feature decorative printed borders and vignettes throughout.
The album contains handwritten entries with sentiments, poems, and personal messages addressed to Mrs. Berry. Contributors include Charles M. Smith, D.D., writing from Spring Hill, Somerville, Massachusetts; Louise Lyon Fittz of Middleboro, Massachusetts, dated February 23, 1883; Wm. J. Robinson of Somerville, Massachusetts, dated March 13, 1880; and A.N. Hardy, signed as a Sunday School teacher. A.N. Hardy is likely pioneering 19th-century photographer Amory Nelson Hardy (1835-1911), a member of the Tremont Temple Congregation. Some pages include hand-drawn pen-and-ink illustrations alongside the inscriptions and printed illustrations.
The covers show wear along the spine edges with fraying at the corners. Interior pages remain intact with some toning.
