Antique cabinet card photograph of an elderly bearded man described as a rugged New Englander, wearing a heavy wool coat, plaid scarf, gloves, and cap, standing and holding a cane or walking stick in both hands. The mount is printed "Bullock, Northfield, Vt." with a decorative monogram. The verso is ink-inscribed "Joel Simons was born December Northfield Vermont 18-1814," suggesting a birth date of December 1814 in Northfield, Vermont.
The photograph shows minor foxing spots and light toning. The mount is in overall clean condition with minor edge wear. The stand visible in the photograph is not included.
