Antique child's dress in brown flecked wool tweed fabric with Victorian or Edwardian styling. Features leg-of-mutton sleeves with gathered shoulders and fitted cuffs, high round neckline with brown bias binding, and vertical pintucks down the front bodice. The dress is secured with a twisted wool cord tie at the natural waist with tasseled ends. Finished with opalescent shell or mother-of-pearl buttons at the back closure and brown fabric trim at neckline and cuffs. Hand-stitched or early machine construction. Chest measures 25" (armpit to armpit doubled), overall length 24", sleeve length 11". Exhibits age-appropriate wear to fabric with some fading and minor surface soiling.
