Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 015 - Antique Folk Art Two-Sided Game Board Hand-Painted on Masonite with "Monotony" Monopoly Parody and Checkerboard, 18" L x 17-3/4" W
Antique folk art game board featuring two different games on opposing sides, executed in hand-painted designs on masonite. One side displays a board for "Monotony," a handmade parody of Monopoly, with the game name prominently painted in white letters on a green center square marked "2:1" and "5:1". The playing surface features a grid pattern with various game spaces containing parodic property names and text including "Ave", "Strand", "Water", "Milk", "Debts Park", "Scram", numbers, and other game-related markings in yellow, white, and green against a primarily white background with black grid lines. The reverse side presents a traditional checkerboard pattern rendered in red and black squares. The board shows age-appropriate wear throughout with paint loss, surface scratches, and patina consistent with use and age. Edge wear and minor losses to the painted surfaces are present on both sides.
