An antique iron implement consisting of a long tapering rod terminating at the upper end in a cast figural finial depicting a human form with outstretched arms and a modeled face. The figure has an open, pierced torso. The lower end of the rod tapers to a point. The function of the object is not certain; the construction and form are consistent with a hearth tool such as a toasting fork, ember rake, or similar fireplace implement, or possibly a fragment of a larger decorative iron object.

The entire surface shows heavy rust, pitting, and encrustation throughout.
