Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 030 - Antique Lake Superior Copper Belt Rivets and Burrs Box, Eagle Brand, The Plume & Atwood Mfg. Co., Waterbury, Connecticut, with Contents, 3-5/8" H
An antique one-pound box of Lake Superior copper belt rivets and burrs retaining its original contents. The paper-covered cardboard box displays "WARRANTED BEST" above an eagle trademark logo, with "EAGLE BRAND" and "LAKE SUPERIOR COPPER" printed on the front panel. Manufactured by The Plume & Atwood Mfg. Co., Waterbury, Connecticut. The company's rolling and wire mills were located in Thomaston, Connecticut, with branch offices listed as New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.
One end panel reads "LAKE SUPERIOR COPPER ASSORTED Belt Rivets and Burrs" with "1 Lb. 3-8 to 3-4 No. 12" designation. The box retains a red arrow-shaped notice label partially obscuring the back panel text. The box contains an assortment of copper belt rivets and burrs in various sizes.
The box shows wear consistent with age including edge losses, paper tears, staining, and general surface soiling. The structural integrity remains intact with contents present.
