Antique aide-memoire pocket notebook titled "Parchment Notes" with black covers featuring an embossed border design and an exposed spine edge. The front cover displays a chromolithograph portrait of a woman in a feathered hat and pearl necklace set within a dark border with the words "Parchment" above and "Notes" below. The back cover is plain black with the same embossed border. The spine incorporates a built-in pencil holder. The interior contains black pages designed for writing with a light-colored pencil, with handwritten entries throughout including a letter inscribed "N. Scituate, Jan. 6, 1890" and signed "Yours Truly, Florence K.," geometric drawing exercises labeled "Circle," "Two views of a door knob," and "Ellipse," and a later entry dated October 1893 noting "Artie Thayer, 17 yrs" and "Peter Roache, 16 yrs, May 1893" with family details.

The covers show edge wear, scuffing, and losses along the spine edge. The interior pages have fading to some of the pencil writing, and there is a split along the center gutter at the front of the notebook.
