This is a police arrest card featuring a mounted photograph depicting Lawrence A. Charlton in profile and frontal views, with number 216 written along the left side of the photograph. The card includes printed and handwritten information from the Massachusetts Reformatory, Concord, Massachusetts, registration number 4936. Charlton was arrested for larceny out of Middlesex County and received an indeterminate sentence. His occupation is listed as bookkeeper, descent as Irish, and age as 18 years, born in Massachusetts. Descriptive details record chestnut black hair, chestnut black beard, florid complexion, weight of 160 pounds, and medium stout build. The reverse records marks, scars, and moles including a curved scar on the hand, a small mole on the hand, a scar above the knee on the right leg outside, and an irregular scar above the knee on the left leg front. Measured at Concord, May 26, 1892, by W.W. Blossom. Photograph and card show age toning, edge wear, and surface marks consistent with age and handling.
