Antique wooden jewelry cleaning box with a printed paper label on the inside of the lid reading "The Lady's Jewel Cleaner" with instructions for cleaning jewelry. The label identifies the maker as J.R. Williams & Son, "For Nearly Fifty Years Wholesale and Manufacturing Jewellers, Now Supplying the Nobility and Gentry Direct at the Warehouse, 108, Hatton Garden, London, E.C." The box has brass hinges and interior dividers forming multiple compartments.
The box contains miscellaneous costume jewelry findings including earrings, a faux pearl cluster brooch, a beaded coin purse, and assorted gold-tone pieces. The label has staining, foxing, and areas of loss. The box shows general wear throughout. Offered as found; contents have not been inventoried or assessed for completeness.
