Large illustrated trade catalog issued by The Peabody Trading Company (Incorporated), Boston, Massachusetts, with main office listed at No. 7 Otis Street. The catalog includes extensive engraved illustrations and descriptions of household goods, furniture, silverplate novelties, office furniture, bedroom sets, cabinetry, and decorative wares.
Interior pages feature detailed engravings of items such as cake baskets, flatware sets, wicker carriages, desks, cabinets, and bedroom furniture, with dimensions, finishes, and prices noted. The volume retains its original cloth-covered boards, with a Peabody Trading Co. stencil mark visible to the cover.
Includes an original pasted membership certificate issued in 1894, made out to a named individual, detailing exclusive purchasing privileges through the company. Binding shows significant wear, with spine deterioration, loose and separated hinges, edge losses, creasing, and toning throughout. Pages show handling wear, tears, and occasional stains but retain strong legibility. Complete as found, with heavy but honest period wear consistent with use.
