Antique tintype photograph depicting five young women posed in two rows before a painted seaside studio backdrop. The three women in the back row are seated on a bench, each wearing wide-brimmed hats and light-colored summer dresses; a man's face is visible peeking through a cut-out hole in the backdrop at the far right. The two women in the front row are seated on the ground, also in hats and white dresses, each with a closed parasol resting beside them.
The tintype shows scratches across the surface, edge wear with losses to the emulsion at the corners and borders, and overall surface scuffing. The stand visible in the photograph is not included.
