Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 017 - Antique Victorian Velvet-Covered Cabinet Card and Carte De Visite C.D.V. Photo Album with Celluloid Cover Decorations, Containing Portrait Photographs and Funeral Memorial Cards Including Adelia Woodward, 1894
Antique Victorian photograph album with a pink velvet cover featuring a celluloid decorative applique on the front board with painted floral sprays, wheat stalks, a bird in flight, and the letters "Album" in raised beaded script surrounding a central medallion. The album is fitted with a metal clasp on the fore edge. Interior pages have printed decorative borders with grapevine and lattice motifs, with die-cut window openings sized to hold cabinet card and carte de visite C.D.V. photographs.
The album contains multiple cabinet card and C.D.V. portrait photographs of men and women, with many openings now empty. A funeral memorial card is tucked into the album, printed in gold on black card stock and reading "In Loving Remembrance Of Adelia Woodward, Died Feb. 6, 1894, Aged 70 yrs. 8 mos. and 16 days," with a Holy Bible graphic and a printed verse.
The velvet cover shows fading, wear, and nap loss, with heavier wear along the spine and edges. The celluloid cover decorations are intact with some paint loss. The interior pages show age toning and occasional soiling, and the spine area shows fraying at the bottom edge. Several photographs remain in the album, though many slots are empty. Offered as found with contents as received.
