Grouping of more than 75 antique and vintage postcards spanning scenic views, holiday greetings, comic and romantic subjects, and architectural landmarks. Notable cards include an interior view of Gillette Castle at Hadlyme, Connecticut, photographed by Edward Saxe, Hartford, Connecticut; Gardner, Massachusetts "Largest Chair in the World"; Lewiston Bridge over the Niagara River at Niagara Falls, New York; St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City; New York Central's "Empire State Express"; Night Scene on Michigan Boulevard, Chicago, Illinois; Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio; and View from Paige Hill, Southbridge, Massachusetts. Holiday postcards include embossed and gold-bordered Christmas and New Year greetings. Comic and novelty cards include a leather postcard captioned "This Is What They Did To Me In" with a donkey motif, a romantic postcard captioned "It feels good around the neck," and a cartoon card captioned "Hully gee Kid, but yer so cold I kin feel icicles formin." The grouping spans the early 1900s through the mid-20th century. Condition varies throughout, with wear, toning, creasing, and postal use on many cards.
