"Frank Forester's Fish and Fishing of the United States and British Provinces of North America" by Henry William Herbert, new edition illustrated from nature, with a supplement, "A Treatise on Fly-Fishing" by "Dinks." Published by W.A. Townsend, New York, 1864. The red cloth covers feature gold-stamped fish vignettes on the front and rear boards with blind-stamped scroll borders. The spine is gold-stamped with the title, a fish vignette, fishing tackle, and a fly-fishing lure.

The covers show rubbing, wear, and fading to the cloth, with fraying at the spine head and tail and corner bumping. Foxing is present throughout the interior pages. The binding is intact.
