Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 093 - Grouping of 12 Antique Cyanotype Photographs Including "Weirs Wreck" Train Derailment, Occupational Newspaper Deliveryman with "The Sun" Cart, Naval Warships, Cyanotype on Birch Bark, Man with Bicycle, and Photo Gallery Interior
Grouping of 12 antique cyanotype photographs with varied subject matter. One board-mounted example depicts a train wreck along a waterfront, inscribed "Weirs Wreck" in ink, showing a derailed locomotive, overturned cars, and a crowd of onlookers gathered along the tracks. An occupational cyanotype shows a man posing with a newspaper delivery cart lettered "The Sun" and dated 1894 on a city sidewalk. One cyanotype has been printed on a piece of birch bark, depicting two men standing outdoors. Additional subjects include naval warships (U.S.S. New York and U.S.S. Montgomery), a young man posing with a bicycle beside a house, a woman with a baby carriage, a woodland scene, an interior wall hung with framed artwork, and a coastal or lakefront view.
The photographs are a mix of unmounted prints and one board-mounted example. Condition varies across the group, with general age-related toning and some surface wear. Display stands are not included.
