Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 164 - Grouping of Antique Board-Mounted Portrait Photographs of Young Women High School Graduates with 1897 Watseka High School Commencement Program and Maud T. Seaman Calling Cards, Watseka, Illinois
Grouping of antique board-mounted oval-vignette portrait photographs of young women, several depicted in graduation caps and gowns. The lot is accompanied by an embossed commencement program for the 15th Annual Commencement of Watseka High School, held at the Opera House on Monday evening, June 14, 1897, in Watseka, Illinois. The program cover features an embossed "Graduating Class" design with a hand holding a torch, bound with a tasseled cord. Calling cards printed with the name "Maud T. Seaman" are also included.
The photographs are mounted on a mix of light and dark boards with oval window mats. Several bear photographer imprints from Watseka, Illinois studios. The portraits date to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, consistent with the 1897 commencement date. The photographs show general age-related toning and minor soiling to mounts. The commencement program shows some edge wear and light soiling to the covers.
