Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 194 - Grouping of Five Vintage Tin Lithograph Party Noisemakers Including Four Ratchet Noisemakers and One Bell Rattle Shaker, Manufactured by Kirchhof, Newark, New Jersey
Grouping of five vintage tin lithograph party noisemakers manufactured by Kirchhof, Newark, New Jersey. The lot includes four ratchet noisemakers in two different forms — two rectangular with wooden handles and two spinning paddle-style — all with printed party-themed graphics. The fifth is a round bell rattle shaker with a red ground depicting caricatured party-goers. One rectangular ratchet noisemaker is marked "Kirchhof 'Life of the Party' Products" and the other is marked with patent date November 27, 1928, No. 1,693,140. Both rectangular ratchet noisemakers are marked "Kirchhof" and "Newark N.J. U.S.A."
Scratches, scuffing, and paint loss are present throughout the group, with heavier wear on the round shaker. The wooden handles show wear and paint loss.
