Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 082 - Grouping of Four Antique Carte De Visite C.D.V. Illustrated Filler Cards Depicting Genre and Figure Scenes, Published by Photographische Gesellschaft, Berlin
Grouping of four antique carte de visite C.D.V. illustrated filler cards, each reproducing a painting as a photographic reproduction. Three cards are identified on the reverse: No. 321, "Mutterliche Besorgniss" ("Maternal Care") by E. Meyerheim, depicting a young girl holding a puppy away from a jumping dog in a rustic interior; No. 17, "Winzerfamilie" ("The Wine-Dresser's Family") by C. Begas, depicting a family group with a woman holding a nude child aloft in an octagonal composition; and No. 311, "Der Kirchgang" ("On the Way to Church") by E. Meyerheim, depicting figures in period dress gathered on a wooded path near a church. The fourth card depicts a nude child seated beside a figure in a turban, with a basin between them. All four cards are published by Kunstverlag der Photographischen Gesellschaft zu Berlin. The fourth card's reverse bears the Photographische Gesellschaft Berlin imprint with the address "am Donhofsplatz" but no title or artist attribution.
Condition shows light toning and minor edge wear across the group. An uncensored photo is available upon request via email at hello@graniteunionauction.com
