Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 144 - Grouping Of Seven Antique Board-Mounted Photographs Of Outdoor Group Gatherings, Including Large Hillside Assembly, Men's Outing With Bottles And Basket, And Men In Aprons
The grouping comprises seven antique board-mounted photographs depicting outdoor group gatherings and social portraits. The two largest prints show multi-generational assemblies of men, women, and children: one photographed on a grassy hillside with the group arranged in ascending tiers, the other posed alongside the exterior wall of a wood-frame building. A family group is photographed on the front lawn of a clapboard house, a bicycle visible leaning against the porch in the background. A group of men is photographed at an outdoor gathering with bottles, a wooden crate, and a wicker basket visible in the foreground, several figures posed atop a raised structure behind. A large assembly of men fills the steps of a building with an ornate latticed porch, bicycles visible flanking both sides. A scene on the deck of a shingled building shows two women and a man, one of whom raises a bottle to his lips, with a rocking chair at right and a third figure visible in a doorway at left. The seventh photograph shows a group of men posed along the exterior of a shingled building, two wearing full-length aprons. Mounts vary from cream to dark gray. No photographer markings are visible on the examples examined. The display stand pictured is not included.
