Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 010 - Grouping of Seven Vintage Original Drawings by C. W. Anderson, Equestrian Subjects Including Brown Jack, Spotted Wonder, and Right Royal, with Manuscript Notes
Grouping of seven original drawings by Clarence William Anderson (1891–1971), depicting equestrian subjects including horse portraits, racehorses with jockeys, and a standing horse in profile. The drawings are executed in pencil and ink on paper, with visible grid lines used for scaling and composition. Several sheets carry handwritten notations on the front or verso identifying subjects by name, including "Brown Jack," "Spotted Wonder," "Right Royal," and "Big Red," along with page references and manuscript text. One sheet bears a typed label reading "Illustration by C. W. Anderson for The Horse of Hurricane Hill, The Macmillan Company" with a red "Property of The Macmillan Company, 60 Fifth Avenue, New York, N.Y., Kindly Return" stamp.
The drawings show toning, edge wear, and some tears. Adhesive tape and sticky notes are present on several sheets.
