Grouping of six volumes from the Illustrated Library of Wonders series, all published by Scribner, Armstrong & Co., New York, in matching red cloth bindings with gilt spine lettering and decorative gilt spine panels. Titles included are: "Wonders of Italian Art" by Louis Viardot, illustrated with 28 engravings, 1872; "Wonders of European Art" by Louis Viardot, illustrated with 11 wood engravings, 1874; "Adventures on the Great Hunting Grounds of the World" by Victor Meunier, illustrated with 22 woodcuts, 1873; "The Intelligence of Animals, with Illustrative Anecdotes" from the French of Ernest Menault, with illustrations, 1872; "Wonders of Bodily Strength and Skill, in All Ages and All Countries," translated and enlarged from the French of Guillaume Depping by Charles Russell, with numerous illustrations, 1873; and "Wonderful Escapes," revised from the French of F. Bernard with original chapters added, by Richard Whiteing, with 26 plates, 1872.

Condition shows uniform wear to the cloth bindings including rubbing, fading, and fraying at the spine ends and corners, consistent with age and use.
