Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 106 - Pair Of Antique Boudoir-Size Cabinet Card Photographs Of A Handmade Miniature Model City With "South Newton" Trolley, "The Grand" Theater, Masonic Lodge, And "United States Brewing Co." Building, Snow & McDermott, Cambridge, Massachusetts
Pair of antique boudoir-size cabinet card photographs depicting two elevated views of an elaborate handmade miniature model city constructed indoors against a wallpapered wall. The first view shows multi-story commercial buildings arranged around a central street and intersection, with a streetcar or trolley marked "South Newton," a building signed "The Grand," and a Masonic lodge among the structures, along with miniature utility poles, an American flag, street-level storefronts, wagons, and vehicles. The photograph is presented in a boudoir-sized mount with a die-cut window. Photographed by Snow & McDermott Photographers Studios, Cambridge, Massachusetts, as identified on the reverse.
The second photograph shows a different angle of the same diorama, with a row of multi-story commercial buildings along a street including a building marked "United States Brewing Co." and the date 1902. Miniature utility poles, wagons, and other street-level details are present along a wooden floor surface. The domestic setting is visible in the background, with a floral-patterned wallpapered wall, a fringed window shade, and a curtain at the right edge. This card is presented in a boudoir-sized mount with rounded corners and is attributed to Snow & McDermott. Both cards show overall toning, soiling, and edge wear, with a small loss at the lower left corner of the second card.
