A pair of antique large-format board-mounted photographs depicting a horse identified by a typed label affixed to the reverse of one photograph as "Hook McDonald by Rex McDonald," foaled about 1907 and purchased in Missouri by Geo. L. Clark of Meriden, Connecticut for G.B. Bunton of New Haven, Connecticut. The label further notes that the photograph was taken when the horse was four or five years old, placing the image at approximately 1911–1912, with East Rock, New Haven in the background.

One photograph depicts the saddled horse standing in profile in an open landscape with bare trees and a hillside visible behind; the typed identification label is affixed to the reverse (19-3/4" x 16-3/4"). The second photograph depicts a middle-aged man in a dark suit and bowler hat standing beside a light-colored saddled horse in an outdoor setting with trees in the background (20" x 16").

Both photographs are unmounted and show significant condition issues including tears, creasing, corner losses, foxing, and toning throughout, consistent with age and handling.
