When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.

Antique salesman's dummy prospectus for "The Illustrious Life of William McKinley, Our Martyred President" by Murat Halstead, copyright 1901. Published by World Publishing Co., 53 Franklin Street, Buffalo, New York. The book is bound in brown cloth with gilt lettering and a portrait medallion of McKinley on the front cover. The interior contains sample pages, engravings, a frontispiece portrait of McKinley, and promotional material directed at sales agents, including a "Special Notice to Agents and the Public," a "Caution" notice from the publisher warning against competing editions, and a reproduced letter from Murat Halstead dated September 21, 1901, on Auditorium Hotel Annex stationery from Chicago, authenticating this edition. A letter of reference from Clifford Hubbell, Cashier of the Columbia National Bank of Buffalo, New York, dated September 16, 1901, is also included.
The covers show edge and corner wear with exposed board at several points. Interior pages show staining and toning throughout.
