When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.

Antique copy of "The Odd-Fellow's Improved Pocket-Manual" by Rev. A. B. Grosh, published by Clark & Maynard, New York, 1874. The book covers the history, principles, government, degree instructions, and duties of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, along with directions and forms for ceremonies, odes with music, and business forms. Grosh is identified on the title page as P. G. and P. C. P. of the R. W. Grand Lodge and R. W. Grand Encampment of Pennsylvania. Copyright 1868 by Theodore Bliss & Co.
The book includes a frontispiece engraved portrait of Grand Secretary Jas. L. Ridgely and interior engravings of fraternal emblems including the All-Seeing Eye. The dark cloth cover is gold-stamped with "O.F. Improved Manual," "A. B. Grosh," and the Hand of Friendship emblem. The cover shows wear and scuffing.
