Lot 103 - Trio of Antique Carved Ivory Chess Pieces Including King, Queen, and Knight
Trio of antique hand-carved ivory chess pieces in an Indian style, including a king figure in turban and ornately carved robes, a queen figure in traditional dress holding a bouquet, and a knight depicted as a mounted horseman on a raised base. Each piece is carved in the round with detailed scrollwork and patterning throughout the garments. The knight retains traces of red pigment on the headdress.
The bases show natural grain lines and age-related hairline cracks consistent with ivory. All three pieces are structurally intact with overall light yellowing and patina from age.
