When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Trio of vintage children's books comprising "The Children's Book of the Saguenay," first edition, copyright 1945, published by Editorial Associates Limited, Montreal and Boston, with a color-illustrated cover depicting children aboard a steamship; and two copies of "Sleeping Beauty," pictured by Gordon Robinson, published by Samuel Gabriel Sons & Company, No. 432, printed in the U.S.A., each with a color-illustrated cover depicting an armored guard in a forest setting. One copy of "Sleeping Beauty" is bound in a linenette format with a black illustrated back cover; the other is cloth-bound with a red spine.
Condition varies across the three volumes, with wear to covers, corner losses, and soiling present on all examples, most notably to the linenette "Sleeping Beauty" copy.
