Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 038 - Vintage Brass Stencil Letters and Numbers Set in Cigar Box, Missing Letter I and Number 7, Otherwise Complete with Extras
This vintage set of brass stencil letters and numbers is housed in a J.A. cigar box. The box features the J.A. brand name surrounded by a wreath design, an N.R.A. eagle emblem marked "We Do Our Part," and "Londres Selected Havana Filler" designation. The bottom of the lid shows "Alles & Fisher" and "Registered U.S. Patent Office." The brass stencils include various letters and numbers in multiple sizes and styles. The set is missing letter I and number 7 but is otherwise complete with additional duplicate pieces included. The stencils show patina and oxidation consistent with age and use. The cigar box shows wear to the paper covering, particularly along edges and corners, with some paper loss and staining.
