Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 091 - Vintage Folk Art Carved Wood Masonic Shield Plaque with Square and Compasses and Order of the Eastern Star Emblems, Inscribed "Lawrence Gross to Carl F. Lindstoll 1932", 11-1/2" W x 21-5/8" H
Carved wood shield-form wall plaque with Masonic and Order of the Eastern Star emblems. The upper center features a circular medallion with a polychrome-painted square and compasses with the letter "G," and the lower center holds a small Order of the Eastern Star star emblem set within a crescent mount. An oval cartouche occupies the middle of the plaque, surrounded by carved acanthus scrollwork and foliate ornament, with a shell or fan motif crowning the arched top.
The reverse is carved with the dedication "Lawrence Gross to Carl F. Lindstoll 1932."
The wood shows general surface wear, minor nicks, and scratches consistent with age. The polychrome paint on the square and compasses medallion shows some wear. The Eastern Star emblem at the lower center is intact.
