Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 097 - Vintage Grouping of 25+ World War II-Era Photographs in Plastic Overlay Album Pages, Mostly Depicting Staff Sergeant Mary Brelick, Bainbridge, Georgia and Bainbridge Army Air Field, Circa 1937-1944, with Reproduction Map
A grouping of 25+ vintage black-and-white photographs housed in plastic overlay album pages, with photographs affixed to grid-pattern paper backing beneath a clear plastic sheet. The collection documents the military service of a woman identified throughout as Staff Sergeant Mary Brelick, stationed at Bainbridge, Georgia and the Bainbridge Army Air Field. The photographs are predominantly dated to 1944, with the earliest examples dating to 1937. Images show Brelick and fellow servicewomen in uniform in a range of indoor and outdoor settings at and around the base. Individual photographs include a formal portrait of Brelick in her Army Air Forces uniform inscribed "Mary, 1944" and a candid image of two servicewomen at a bookshelf.
Also included in the lot is a matted reproduction print of the double-hemisphere world map titled "Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographica ac Hydrographica Tabula," after the 17th-century cartographic style, with decorative figural borders, and a French royal arms cartouche at center.
The photographs vary in size and show surface wear and tonal fading consistent with age. The album pages show yellowing and edge wear consistent with age. The map print shows minor toning to the mat.
