Vintage slot-and-tab cardboard Jack-O-Lantern lantern manufactured by Dolly Toy Company, Dayton, Ohio, dating from the mid-1930s through the 1950s. The lantern is constructed from die-cut orange and black printed cardboard panels assembled with interlocking slot-and-tab joints. Both faces feature a smiling Jack-O-Lantern with cut-out triangular eyes, nose, and toothy mouth backed by colored tissue paper inserts. A wire bail handle is attached at the top. The body panels continue the pumpkin rib design on the sides.

The lantern shows wear consistent with age, including edge wear along the tab joints, small puncture holes and scuffing on the body panels, and some soiling to the interior and base. The tissue paper inserts remain intact but both have punctures and wear.
Dimensions: 8" L x 4-3/4" W x 6-1/2" H
Height not including wire handle.
