Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 130 - Vintage Snapshot Photo Album Containing 200+ Photographs, English and French Travel, Churches, Villages, Chartres Cathedral, Leicestershire, and French Countryside, Circa 1940s-1950s
Vintage black-page photo album containing approximately 200 black-and-white snapshot photographs documenting English and French travel from the late 1940s through the early 1950s. The album is bound with gingham ribbon ties and photographs are mounted with corner tabs. Pages are captioned in white pencil with location names and dates.
English locations include Ulverscroft Priory, King's Norton, Saddington, Galby, Goddesby, Stapleford, Ketton, and Exton, concentrated in the Leicestershire and Rutland areas of the English Midlands. Subjects include parish churches and their interiors, village streets, country houses, tomb effigies, Norman doorways, and groups of women posed at various sites. French content includes pages captioned "On the way to Chartres" dated September 1950, with views of Chartres Cathedral, a French village street with a cafe-restaurant, the Chateau de Faurs, and the town of Ablis. Additional pages dated May 1952 show further English church visits and group outings.
Some photographs have shifted or detached from corner mounts. Pages show minor handling wear and occasional creasing at edges.
