Antique approximately boudoir-size cabinet card photograph depicting three men in hats seated around a small table playing checkers inside what appears to be a store or gathering room. An elderly bearded man sits at left beside a pot-belly stove, a second man leans over the checkerboard at center, and a third man sits in a rocking chair at right. The walls are lined with calendars, photographs, clippings, hanging hats, and coats on hooks. A ceramic pitcher sits on the floor beneath the table. A pencil inscription on the image reads "Uncle Ed."

The photograph shows overall fading and toning. The mount exhibits soiling, corner losses at upper right, and edge wear throughout. The stand visible in the photograph is not included.
