Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 117 - Antique Chromolithograph Print, "The Morning of Life," After Charles C. Curran, Published by the Gerlach-Barklow Co., Joliet, Illinois, in Wood Frame, 10-3/4" W x 10-3/4" H
An antique chromolithograph print titled "The Morning of Life," reproduced from the original painting by American artist Charles C. Curran (1861–1942). The composition depicts four girls and young women of progressively increasing age walking hand-in-hand across a sunlit hillside strewn with wildflowers against a blue sky with white clouds, read as an allegorical progression from early childhood to the verge of womanhood. Published by The Gerlach-Barklow Co., Joliet, Illinois, U.S.A. An original publisher's descriptive text label is affixed to the verso, partially obscured by the hanging cord, providing biographical notes on Curran and a description of the composition.
The print surface shows scattered surface dust, minor scuffs, and tonal variation consistent with age. The verso backing paper shows significant deterioration, tears, and losses. The wood frame shows wear consistent with age.
