Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 203 - Antique Framed Panoramic Photograph Of Bellevue Hospital And East River Pier, New York City, 17-7/8" x 10"
An antique panoramic photograph taken from an elevated vantage point, depicting Bellevue Hospital and its waterfront along the East River on Manhattan's Lower East Side. A wooden pier on pilings extends across the foreground, with several small structures and a covered building along its length. A round or octagonal pavilion is visible at the near end of the pier. Behind the waterfront, the hospital complex is visible, including a mansard-roofed building at far left and the multi-story Bellevue Hospital Medical College near the center, with additional institutional buildings extending to the right. Figures are faintly visible along the adjacent street and near the pier. The photograph dates to approximately the late 1890s, around the period when the medical college merged with New York University in 1898. It is mounted within a wooden frame with a beaded inner border, under glass. The reverse is backed with a wood panel, with remnants of paper covering at the corners and lower right. The photograph exhibits overall toning and surface wear, and the frame shows wear with minor losses to the beaded trim at the corners.
