Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 060 - Antique Framed Pencil Drawing on Paper, Church and Graveyard with Figures, Framer's Label on Verso, 7-5/8" W x 9-5/8" H
Antique pencil drawing on paper depicting a church and churchyard scene. The composition shows a Gothic-windowed church with a round tower, surrounded by gravestones and trees, with three figures and a child walking among the graves in the foreground.
The verso bears a framer's label for a dealer in engravings, etchings, and frames, with the name "Frank Hamlin" written at top and an order number. A separate small affixed label reads "1774 - A.D." in manuscript, though this piece likely dates later than that. The drawing is housed in a wood frame under glass. The stand shown in the photographs is not included.
The paper shows toning, foxing, and scattered surface abrasion. There is wear and loss to the paper backing on the verso.
