An antique oil painting on board depicting two male figures in a wooden rowboat on calm water at sunset. One figure is seated at the oars while the other stands at the stern, hauling what appears to be a net over the side. A distant sailboat is visible on the horizon, with a faint coastline or harbor suggested in the far background. The sky is rendered in graduated warm tones of peach and rose.
The painting is housed in a gilt wood frame with beaded inner molding. The frame shows significant wear including losses and separation at the corners. A piece of modern mat board has been inserted behind the panel for stability, as the painting was loose in the frame, as acquired. The display stand visible in photographs is not included.
