When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

This is a police arrest card featuring a mounted photograph depicting Richard Vaughn in profile and frontal views, with Vaughn wearing a straw boater hat in the frontal photograph. The card includes Bertillon measurements taken at Newark, New Jersey, with the date field printed "190" and no further year entered. Vaughn is identified as a "Yegg" in red ink. He is listed as age 29 (given and apparent), born in New York City, with brown eyes, dark brown hair, no moustache, no beard, medium complexion, weight of 123 1/2 pounds, and height of 5 feet 5 3/4 inches in shoes.
The reverse lists his occupation as salesman, alias Ed. Wilson, criminal specialty as safe blowing, and crime as burglary. File number 520, record number 15. Marks, scars, and moles are noted as two scars on the left brow, a scar over the left ear, and a scar rear of the right ear. Fingerprint boxes on both front and reverse are empty.
