Angell as president. Issued as a moral and educational text promoting humane treatment of animals. Advertising on the cover notes compliments of Bouve, Crawford & Co. Corporation, maker of the celebrated Crawford Shoe, with details of Crawford Shoe Stores, Boston, Massachusetts. Printed wrapper with horse vignette to cover. Condition poor with heavy wear, creasing, corner loss, age toning, and writing in pencil to cover, but intact and complete. An uncommon survival of this socially significant edition distributed for humane education and animal welfare advocacy.
