Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Lot 168 - Grouping of Four Antique Photographs and Ephemera Including Two Cabinet Card Photographs, a Board-Mounted Photograph of a House with Figures, and a Gibson Santa Claus Christmas Card
Four antique items including two cabinet card photographs, a board-mounted photograph, and a Christmas greeting card. One cabinet card depicts a man with eyeglasses and a prominent mustache, bearing a red ink inscription with a name and "M.D." designation along the lower mount; photographed by L.G. Burnham, Burlington, Vermont. The other cabinet card, with deckled edges, depicts a young child standing beside a bench; photographed by E.M. Collins, 23 West Bridge Street, Oswego, New York. The board-mounted photograph depicts a two-story white clapboard house with several figures on the front porch and a carriage beside an adjacent outbuilding; no photographer is identified. The Christmas card features a Santa Claus vignette within a circular frame on the front cover with an attached ribbon bow, and the interior contains a printed verse signed in ink. Published by Gibson, Cincinnati, Ohio and New York, New York, as marked on the back alongside a Christmas tree vignette.
The cabinet cards show general toning and soiling. The board-mounted photograph has toning and edge wear. The Christmas card has staining on the interior left panel and overall toning. The display stand is not included.
