Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

This is a grouping of seven police arrest cards, each featuring photographs depicting subjects in frontal or profile views. The cards include Bertillon-style measurement fields with printed and handwritten entries.
Named subjects include Edward Mullen, registered at Massachusetts State Prison (Reg. No. 14372) for robbery out of Suffolk County with a sentence of five to six years, measured in 1910 and noted as a parole violator in 1914; John Murphy, marked "Yegg" and identified as a safe blower, measured at St. Joseph, Missouri on December 14, 1903, with a Dover, New Hampshire Police Department card noting aliases Ed. Duffy and John Doyle; Arthur (Bert) Williams, also marked "Yegg" with aliases including "Willimantic Johnny," measured at Lowell, Massachusetts in February 1911 with occupation listed as safe blowing, with an accompanying card from The Wood-Morgan Detective Agency of Boston, Massachusetts; Harry Brown, numbered B. 5063, measured at Eastern State Penitentiary, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 15, 1909; Thomas Harris; Oscar Adams; and Eugene J. Gleason.
The cards show toning, soiling, and wear consistent with age.
