Absentee bids let you place your maximum bid on an item before the live auction begins. During the live show, we’ll continue bidding on your behalf up to your max bid — just like leaving a bid with a traditional auctioneer.
When you place an absentee bid, the system sets the current bid conservatively — just enough to keep you in the lead without revealing your full amount.
The current bid shown on each lot reflects all confirmed absentee bids and updates automatically as new bids come in.
When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.
Because absentee bids can arrive seconds apart, the current bid you see may not always include bids still being processed. Refresh the page for the most up-to-date information.

Grouping of six antique real photo postcards (R.P.P.C.) in the exaggeration or "tall tale" genre, all photographed by W.H. Martin. Each card depicts photomontage compositions of impossibly oversized subjects in rural Midwestern settings. Captions include "Bringing in the Sheaves" with giant corn, cabbages, and pumpkins on a farmstead; "The largest ear of corn grown in Mo." with a massive ear of corn on a horse-drawn wagon; "When we go after anything in Missouri we get it" with automobiles lassoing a giant rabbit; "Watermelons grow big in Kans." with oversized watermelons on a cart; and "Our County Fair Contest on corn" with giant ears of corn at a county fair. Copyright dates of 1907 and 1908 are printed on the fronts. Published by The North American Post Card Co., Kansas City, U.S.A.
Cards have been postally used. One is postmarked Laddonia, August 29, 1910, addressed to Hannibal, Missouri. Another is postmarked Kansas City, November 2, 1909, addressed to Brainerd, Minnesota. Toning, corner wear, and edge wear are present across the group.
