When the live auction starts, bidding will begin at the current bid. The auctioneer will continue bidding on behalf of absentee bidders up to their max bids.

Lot 230 - "Introduction to the English Reader" Antique Prose and Poetry Book by Lindley Murray, Published by E. H. Flint, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1833
"Introduction to the English Reader; or, A Selection of Pieces, in Prose and Poetry" by Lindley Murray, author of "An English Grammar, &c. &c." Published by E. H. Flint, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1833. The title page notes the work is "Calculated to Improve the Younger Classes of Learners in Reading and to Imbue Their Minds with the Love of Virtue," with added "Rules and Observations for Assisting Children to Read with Propriety." The year "1833" is repeated in manuscript ink below the printed date on the title page. An ownership inscription on the front endpaper reads "John Boyes Book" in decorative calligraphic script with pen flourishes. Additional ink inscriptions are present on the facing page.
The book is bound in leather spine with paper-covered boards. The covers show heavy wear, staining, and surface loss. The spine is worn with exposed leather. Pages show foxing, staining, and toning throughout.
