Antique classical reference book, Supplemental Plates To The Manual Of Classical Literature by N.W. Fiske, professor at Amherst College, published by Edward C. Biddle, Philadelphia, 1843, stereotyped by L. Johnson. Includes engraved illustrations depicting figures from classical mythology such as Jupiter, Juno, Apollo, and Mercury, among others. Issued as a companion to the Manual of Classical Literature, these plates provided supplemental visual material deemed too extensive to include in the main work. Hardcover with marbled boards and leather spine. Heavy foxing throughout, especially to plates and title page, with wear to covers and binding.
