Vintage 1963 U.S. Government Printing Office fold-out poster titled “Public Shelter Designs,” produced by the Office of Civil Defense as part of the national Fallout Shelter program. Printed on heavy cardstock with colorful illustrations depicting various public and private shelter models including commercial buildings with protective cores, protected above-ground schools, community centers, hospitals with fallout shelters, semi-mounted plywood box shelters, and earth-covered A-frame designs. Interior panels list recommended home and public shelter supplies such as sanitation, water, food, and radiological kits. Stamped “U.S. Government Printing Office: 1963 — 690727.” Light soiling, edge wear, and minor separation at folds consistent with age and handling.
